One of the perks of being a student (besides living below the poverty line) is winter break. A magical time of northward migration, sledding through the woods, christmas tree disasters, and taking pictures of faces on sticks held in front of actual faces.
This break, I attended the wedding of two friends from Moravian College, Jethro and Auburiah (names have been nicked to confuse the innocent). The service was in Bethlehem, the reception was in Philadelphia (or somewherethereabouts).

We decorated the tree as a family.
Gale was horrified to see Kermit’s shocking new disability. How do you control a sled with one arm? It’s certainly not easy being green.

Later, the tree fell down just before we were about to take a family picture. The mess is seen here. Also, there are ornaments on the ground.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the tree to fall down on us while we took the family picture, so we had to settle for a relatively normal one.

Edison, our new pit-boxer puppy, likes to take himself for walks in the snow
Cody, Shannon, Nick and myself went for an sledding/hiking/climbing adventure through the woods in the snow. Pretty awesome. Unintentional trick photography made this tree look huge!
Spent New Years in Philadelphia with a few friends, some beer, some champagne, and Old Glory.

But now I am back in Chapel Hill. She greeted me with a golden sun and beautiful blue sky through a dirty windshield.
The drive south is always bittersweet. It was especially peaceful without a roommate or internet in my house for a few days. Turns out the router just needed to be unplugged, reset, plugged in, unplugged, reset some more, and then plugged in. Andrew, my roommate, should be back in a few days and then it will be time for classes to start again. Wish me luck.
